The Bruce Plum tree is a frost-hardy tree, ideal for low frost prone areas. The Bruce plum will grow to heights of 15-20 feet, with 10-15 spreads and produces light red fruit with a sweet mellow flavor. Plant Bruce plum in a fertile, moist but well-draining soil in full sun, receiving at least 8 hours of direct sunlight daily. Plant Methley or any other Japanese-type cultivar for cross-pollination and will require at least 500 chill hours. A freestone, Bruce plums are usually ready for harvesting by the start of June.
