Chicago Hardy produces high yields of tasty, medium-sized brown figs which ripen mid-summer to early fall. Makes for great container growing if you have a small yard or limited patio space. It is self-pollinating. It matures to an average height of 15 feet to 20 feet and an average width of 15 feet to 20 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. Move indoors for extremely cold winters.
Chicago Hardy is very heat tolerant and prefers well-drained soil. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun, morning sun with afternoon shade or morning shade with afternoon sun. In the spring Chicago Hardy Fig produces green flowers. The foliage is medium green and dark green in color.
