The Fuji Apple tree grows to heights of 10-15 feet, with spreads of 8-10 feet. Red Fuji’s are grocer’s top choice for apples. Known for their exceptional eating quality and great for baking. Best grown in deep, loamy, moderately fertile, slightly acidic, medium moisture, well-drained soils. Tolerates average garden soils, but heavy clay soils which waterlog easily and drain poorly should be avoided. More than one variety must be planted in order to facilitate best pollination and subsequent fruit production. Arkansas Black, Gala and Granny Smith are suitable pollinators for Fuji. Full sun and at least 350-400 chill hours are required. Fuji apples usually ripen in October and enjoy a long storage life.
