The Montmorency Cherry tree grows 18 to 20 feet tall with a spread of 18-20 feet. The fruit is large sized with bright red skin, the flesh is golden. Standard for pie cherries. Fruit has a rich, tart, and tangy flavor. Tree requires good drainage and aeration. The Montmorency is self fertile only one tree is needed. While cross pollination is not required for this particular cherry tree, it is recommended adding a cross pollinator for improved production. Plant the Montmorency Tree in full sun. These cherry trees are a late season producer, that requires at least 700 chill hours.
